Just as I think you lost all taste, you came back with an out of nowhere comment like this . You remind me of my Aunt with her absolute love of movies. Almost all movies. She rarely sees a movie she does not love. Movies that are so bad that I can't sit through the whole thing end up with a 4 star rating from Aunt Toad. At the same time, she gets to enjoy 20 times more films than I do. You, Ryan, enjoy much more music than I do. You have a much broader taste.
At the same time, I firmly believe that American Idol is the death knell of intelligent television. Listening to three un-qualified morons comment on a parade of generally bad music is a less constructive use of time than reading product labels as you sit on the toilet.
Hahahahahaha ... well, it's all degrees of enjoyment. Those degrees are: 1) I can tolerate it but barely. 2) I am neither here nor there about it. 3) I like it. 4) I love it.
The actual music ON Idol is No. 2 on the list, but the show is No. 3. "Intelligent Television" is an oxymoron, in my book, so I just go for entertaining. And it doesn't have to be quality to be entertaining ... in fact, if it's too "intelligent," it's likely to lose me.
But back to Foreigner and this tune. THAT is a No. 4. Love it.
On the other hand -- and this probably proves your point totally -- I was listening to Britney Spears "Gimme More" on the radio on Saturday and thought, "This is really not half bad." Ha!
